2023 South American Cup - Top Prospects
The 2023 South American Cup took place in Brasilia last month, featuring the national teams from Brazil, Chile and Colombia competing in a regional round-robin tournament. All22 was on hand to evaluate all three teams, including official measurements and on-field combine testing. The following are the top prospects you need to know about.

Window has likely closed for North American pro opportunities but should continue to be a priority import target in Europe.

Viewed as a high character, hard worker who could blossom under the right coaching due to his measurables and youth.

Exhibits impressive power and strength when he establishes proper leverage, but gives up too much ground by standing upright. Strong lower body but has some looseness to tighten up in his gut. Still needs to take the next step in his development to become an effective every-down presence.

Thick build and defined physique with the athletic upside to align as a high safety or play in the box full-time. Should be a high-priority European import target given his talent and previous professional experience.

A plus pass catcher with soft hands and the ability to contribute on short routes. Lacks an elite second gear to bust longer runs. Could be productive in a mid-to-low-level European league.

Delivers good placement on directional kickoffs, easily booms through touchbacks when asked. A legitimate punter with solid placement and hang time. A standout athletic tester with a 4.51 forty time and the best change-of-direction numbers on his team. Would be a significant upgrade over the existing kicking situations for a number of top-tier European teams and a possible revisit for CFL Global evaluation.

Scouting snapshot: The standout receiver of the week and Brazil’s receiving yardage leader in 2023. Good frame and athletic build with very good long speed, clocking a 4.43 forty. Smooth runner with the suddenness to separate out of cuts and the second gear to threaten over the top. Extremely reliable hands, did not let a target drop throughout the week. Shows willingness as a blocker. Polished player who should be a high-level European import target.
