The 2025 CFL Global Draft took place on Tuesday, April 29, with 18 prospects from outside the United States and Canada earning selections.

Now that the draft is complete, we will now take a look at all the selections with a brief discussion on background and/or fit for each player, along with some recent draft trends we noticed!

Round 1

#1) Calgary Stampeders — PT Fraser Masin, University of Mississippi (Australia)

HT: 6042 | WT: 244 | HND: 9 1/8 | ARM: 32 5/8 | WNG: 78 2/8

Masin has a lot fewer kicks under his belt than other elite prospects due to only playing three seasons at Ole Miss but he took a massive step forward last season. The big-bodied Aussie saw his gross average grow to 46.4 yards and net average balloon to 44.4 yards — increases of four and five yards over his previous career marks. He also surpassed four seconds of average hangtime for the first time, entering into the top tier of prospects. With Cody Grace leaving Calgary in free agency, Masin will be the favourite to take the top punter job in camp.

Team fit: Projected Starter | NFL status: Mini-Camp Invite from Pittsburgh Steelers

#2) Winnipeg Blue Bombers — EDGE Kemari Munier-Bailey, Weber State University (England)

HT: 6024 | WT: 230 | HND: 9 | ARM: 32 3/8 | WNG: 78 1/8

BP: 20 | VJ: 33 | BJ: 09’03” | 10YD: 1.62 | 40YD: 4.70 | 3C: 7.57 | SS: 4.69

A former member of the Great Britain junior national basketball team, Munier-Bailey had stints at Idaho and Fresno State before earning third-team FCS All-American honours in his final season with the Wildcats. He’s a classic CFL tweener on the outside with a good first step and active hands as a speed rusher, though he can be late to bend the edge and gets run past the QB at times. He can get moved off his spot in the run game, but is fast enough to be able to track down ball carriers in space once they bounce outside. He was also one of the better special teams projections available, which may be why Winnipeg traded up to get him.

Team fit: Rotational Contributor | NFL status: Unsigned

#3) Edmonton Elks — EDGE Richard Jibunor, Troy University (Nigeria)

HT: 6020 | WT: 232 | HND: 9 6/8 | ARM: 33 7/8 | WNG: 82 4/8

BP: 25 | VJ: 35 | BJ: 10’04” | 10YD: 1.65 | 40YD: 4.71 | 3C: 7.52 | SS: 4.34

A former four-star recruit to Auburn who logged All-Sunbelt honours in four consecutive seasons after transferring to Troy, Jibunor was signed by the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent last year but failed to make the roster. He’s an undersized tweener by NFL standards but perfectly suited to rush the passer in the CFL, with good arm length and muscle definition throughout an athletic frame. He consistently wins with speed off the edge and has enough bend to regularly turn the corner. While he can struggle against larger blockers in the run game, the Nigerian is hard to reach and sets a firm edge on outside zone, with great pursuit speed to chase from the backside. That should translate into a high special teams floor in addition to his ceiling as a defensive difference-maker.

Team fit: Rotational Contributor | NFL status: Unsigned

#4) BC Lions — PT Ross Bolger, Idaho State University (Ireland)

HT: 5102 | WT: 213 | HND: 9 | ARM: 31 5/8 | WNG: 74 4/8

An undersized former Gaelic footballer, Bolger has already undergone much of the heavy lifting in converting to the gridiron by playing two college seasons. He grades out highly as a punter and saw his gross average climb to 44.5 yards last year, with a net of 40.1 and 3.88 seconds of hangtime. He also has the advantage of experience as a kickoff specialist, though he lacks the leg to truly boom it. B.C. needed a Global to compete with South African rugby convert Carl Meyer for their punter job and Bolger fits that bill.

Team fit: Potential Starter | NFL status: Unsigned

#5) Ottawa Redblacks — PT/PK Callum Eddings, Stephen F. Austin University (Australia)

HT: 5103 | WT: 150 | HND: 86 | ARM: 303 | WNG: 714

Eddings is a native of Melbourne, Australia and transferred to SFA after spending three seasons at McNeese State University. He averaged 45.9 gross yards per punt in 2024, a full five yards more than his previous career high, but still had just 3.73 seconds of average hangtime. While that is better than his career average of 3.56 seconds, it is hard to imagine him replacing a popular established veteran like Richie Leone.

Team fit: Practice Roster Candidate | NFL status: Unsigned

#6) Saskatchewan Roughriders — IDL Sylvain Yondjouen, Georgia Institute of Technology (Belgium)

HT: 6032 | WT: 260 | HND: 9 1/8 | ARM: 34 4/8 | WNG: 81 4/8

Primarily utilized off the edge at Georgia Tech, Yondjouen projects as an interior contributor in the CFL if he can add a little weight. The Belgian has battled injury and isn’t a consistent threat in the passing game but flashes twitch off the snap and shocks opponents with fast, violent hands. His raw knockback power allows him to create disruption when he gets hands on first and he effectively uses his elite reach to long arm. While he still needs to develop secondary pass-rush moves, his blue traits are good enough to contribute in the right role if he comes north.

Team fit: Futures Pick | NFL status: Signed by Carolina Panthers

#7) Montreal Alouettes — PT Joshua Sloan, University of Memphis (Australia)

HT: 6022 | WT: 207 | HND: 9 1/8 | ARM: 31 | WNG: 74 2/8

A highly reliable transfer from UTEP, Sloan has one of the longest hangtimes of any prospect in this class with a career average of 4.03 seconds. He surrenders a little yardage in the process but still averaged 42.2 gross yards and 38.7 yards of net. The Alouettes have an excellent established Global punter in Joseph Zema but Sloan is good enough to push him.

Team fit: Practice Roster Candidate | NFL status: Unsigned

#8) Hamilton Tiger-Cats — PT Josh Green, Oregon State University (Australia)

HT: 6007 | WT: 212 | HND: 9 4/8 | ARM: 30 4/8 | WNG: 74

BP: 18 | 10YD: 1.69 | 20YD: 2.73 | 40YD: 4.71

From Adelaide, Australia, Green began his college football career at Laney College in 2019 before transferring to Oregon State in 2020. He averaged a respectable 46.2 gross yards and 41.4 net yards last season but still managed just 3.65 seconds of hangtime. He was among the lowest-graded punters available according to Pro Football Focus and had one of the highest rates of allowed returns at 41.8 percent, which makes it unlikely he’ll push a good young punter like Nik Constantinou.

Team fit: Practice Roster Candidate | NFL status: Unsigned

#9) Toronto Argonauts — OL Valentin Senn, University of Connecticut (Austria)

HT: 6066 | WT: 305 | HND: 10 | ARM: 33 4/8 | WNG: 79

BP: 25 | VJ: 31.5 | BJ: 09’00” | 10YD: 1.75 | 40YD: 5.13 | 3C: 8.00 | SS: 4.64

Senn is an explosive straight-line athlete for his size and quick out of his stance, allowing him to reach or seal the backside consistently. He flies to the second level with speed but struggles to locate at times and gets caught lunging. His lateral agility doesn’t always translate in pass protection and he has a tendency to underset badly, but his high-end ability to recover has resulted in just two sacks allowed in three seasons as a starting left tackle. If the right coaching can clean up his technical deficiencies, Senn has high upside due to his physical measurables and size.

Team fit: Futures Pick | NFL status: Signed by Arizona Cardinals
