2024 Second Team All-ACC
2023 Second Team All-ACC
Background/Player Snapshot: Spent two seasons at Washington State before transferring to Miami last season. Solid play speed and athleticism. Diagnoses plays quickly and pursues with controlled burst. Great ability to fill gaps with force. Shows solid acceleration to the sideline and delivers some nastiness upon arrival. Serviceable in zone coverage, watching the QB's eyes to block throwing lanes. Can sometimes take a bit to disengage bigger lineman blocks due to his lighter weight. Could benefit from a lower strike zone as a tackler, hitting a little high at times. Questionable COD skills versus shiftier pass catchers in man. Overall, a hard-hitting ILB that is an asset in pursuit and gap filling.

Background/Player Snapshot: American Samoan with a decorated football and basketball background in high school. Used as a DE and DT in a 4-down system. Displays good quickness and first step in pass rush. Frequently defeats pass blocks with fast hands and bend. Has good swim and long arm moves that help him gain leverage and put pressure on the QB. Possesses enough play strength to hold the LOS against exterior single blockers in the run game. Gives a willing effort in pursuit. Lacks the core strength necessary to win consistently in the run game against heavier interior OL. Does not show a willingness to take on pullers consistently, using wrong arm technique that allows the ball to break contain.

TE Ray Paulo - Brigham Young University (2023-24) / Allan Hancock College (2018-22)
Citizenship: American Samoa
Height: 6030e | Weight: 255e

Background/Player Snapshot: Transfer from Allan Hancock College, where he played on both sides of the ball. Primarily a blocking option as a backup TE for BYU. Compares similarly to 2024 CFL Global Draft Selection, Ron Tiavaasue, in his impressive lead and inline blocking skills. Average play speed and agility. Shows some sneaky burst as a lead blocker, meeting contact with some force. Displays solid balance as a blocker, keeping himself square to the LOS. Holds a good anchor, with the ability to reset his hands. Inconsistent versus speed rushes, lunging to stay in front. Not used a lot as a receiving option by BYU. Overall, a rotational TE that can aid in the blocking game, with special teams potential.

NCAA Prospect
TE Alexander Faiivae - Leone High School, Pago Pago, American Samoa (2023-24)
Citizenship: American Samoa
Height: 6030e | Weight: 215e
Career Stats: N/A
Notable Player Awards: N/A
Background/Player Snapshot: Faiivae just recently signed with Utah State. He is also switching positions to TE from WR/OLB in high school. Even though he needs to add weight to his frame, he’s already going to be quite a receiving threat for the Aggies. He makes many great plays in YAC and should make quite an impact soon.
