WHY A FOCUS ON GLOBAL TALENTS?
Our goal cannot be achieved without promoting opportunities for global talents to reach their highest potential as global players and fulfill their dreams on the football field.
Regardless of their country of origin there is no bigger dream than playing at the NFL level.
THE IPP PROGRAM:
Right now, the main path for global players to join the NFL is through the International Player Pathway (IPP) program of the NFL.
The players chosen from across the globe get a shot at becoming professional football players at the highest level. They also become global ambassadors for the sport, inspiring others to follow their path.
AN INSPIRING STORY: MAXIMILIAN PIRCHER
With this vision in mind, we're excited to share an amazing story with our community.
Meet Maximilian Pircher, an Italian-born American Football player who's now part of the Detroit Lions' practice squad, all thanks to the IPP program.
What makes Max's story unique is that until 2018, he had not stepped on a football field at all.
He used to play handball. But his life changed when one of his high school teachers took him to a football game in Innsbruck (Austria).
Since then, with a lot of dedication and passion, Max made it onto the IPP Program's shortlist and was eventually chosen by the Los Angeles Rams in 2021.
Now, he's with the Detroit Lions.
