Hello everyone!
This week we introduce you to how ALL22 will incorporate body type designations as descriptors in our future player snapshots. It adds another layer to the evaluation for all our readers and is an essential part of the player assessment for all scouts and decision-makers.
Check it out below:
Body Type Designations
Ectomorphic:
Tall and thin
Narrower shoulders, torsos and hips
Long/thin limbs and legs
Tend to have little muscle or fat
Mesomorphic:
Athletic/strong
Broader shoulders and chest
Narrower hips and waist
Well-defined legs
Tend to build muscle easily
Endomorphic:
Wider waist and hips compared to their shoulders
Tend to have shorter/thicker legs
Tend to store fat easily
These descriptions can also feature the 5 different upper body types for males (pictured below):
Example
Here’s a look at what it will read like for RB Mario Anderson Jr, who was featured in last week’s post on the 2025 Hula Bowl Standouts:
Player snapshot: Anderson Jr. has an endomorph build with a rectangle upper body, and short, but thick legs. Portrays nice body control and balance to get skinny through the hole. Shows some strength to move the pile in short yardage situations. Doesn’t look very agile when running routes, but possesses reliable hands.
